I probably say this every year, but this fall has been especially spectacular. The aspens changed pretty late, and until we got our really hard freeze last week, they were hanging on. Now the leaves are fading and falling at a really fast rate. It had to end sometime I suppose.

Snow and aspens from MFL |
We had a little snowfall last week during that hard freeze, not enough to measure. Looking back the previous two winters, our first measurable snowfalls were October 12th (3 inches) and October 24th (6 inches). Looking at the long-term forecast, which is so unreliable, it looks like there's a possibility near the end of the month.
We have new neighbors! Jason (15) has leased his A-frame for a year to a darling couple, Alex and Justin Dudas. They both work remotely so are home every day. They have a dog and a cat. They lived for a number of years in Jackson Hole, WY and then moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where Dustin's family lives. They are ready for conditions on Mineral Farms Lane and excited for everything the area has to offer. Additionally, they told us that Jason had built a tiny home on his property and has leased it to a man who will be moving in shortly.
The turkeys are back! There are six of them, and they are particularly fond of the Whites' yard.
