I have another cold
And anyone who's been around me, namely Mike and Greg, will tell you I have been beyond grumpy. Two colds a month apart would make anyone unhappy.
Since I last wrote, we've had an additional two feet of snow, the lastest four arriving during the night last night. More is expected tonight. Between Brett's snowblower coming up if there's more than five inches and David clearing the road today, we have had clear sailing. It's such a relief after the first part of the season, and we are grateful. Total as of today is 73.5 inches.
The Whites were here over Christmas, and it is such a joy to see the kids out and about. One morning, about 6:15, we were woken out of a dead sleep by a coyote barking and then a shrill scream. I don't think I need to go into detail about what that signaled. Amber told me that they were terrified that Robby's sister had gone outside with her two little dogs (who have pee issues) so they were racing around the house trying to find her. Fortunately, she was not outside and crisis averted.
And now it's quiet again on MFL. The parking lots at and around the ice park are full, and the ice looks gorgeous. The town is busier and will be for the next few months. 550 was closed last week for three days because of a massive avalanche that covered the highway south of Ironton Park. Barb sent me a picture that showed about 10-12 feet of snow on the highway. Avalanche danger statewide continues to be severe, mostly due to the November snow we got. CAIC posts on Instagram almost every day if you have that interest.
